About Francois Trahan
François Trahan is an economist by training with a master’s degree in econometrics, he is widely praised for his differentiated insights into the drivers and dynamics of the market place and his unique understanding of the business cycle. Institutional Investor magazine ranked Mr. Trahan top portfolio strategist for the past three years and in five of the past six years. In 2010, he also ranked second in the quantitative research category.
Before leaving Wolfe Trahan, he was Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist at International Strategy and Investment Group (ISI), as well as head of ISI’s Quantitative Research Team. Mr. Trahan was formerly with Bear Stearns & Co. where he served as a Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Strategist for four years. Earlier, he worked for Ned Davis Research and the Bank Credit Analyst Research Group. Mr. Trahan received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Montreal.
