Big Picture, Guest Expert, Premium
Jim welcomes back JKC de Courcy, Chief Executive of Courcy’s Intelligence Service in London, and publisher of Courcy’s Intelligence Brief. Mr. de Courcy sees more evidence of an Israeli strike on Iran ahead, and likely without any assistance from the United States. He also sees the continuing turmoil in the Middle East leading to more dictators getting overthrown, and the potential break-up of a number of Middle East countries. Mr. de Courcy notes that Islam is at war with the West, and with itself. Turning to Asia, he sees Japan moving to closer ties with Russia and beginning to move away from its military posture of pacifism, all in response to a growing threat from China, which just launched its first aircraft carrier.

The Fed is clearly going "all in." In the next topic, "The train has left the station; are you onboard?" Jim discusses the actions by the Fed this year to jawbone the market and keep rates down. Now QE3 is here, and it appears it may be going global. In his third Big Picture topic, "Beating the Bank−Returns that beat cash and let you sleep at night," Jim advises structuring your assets like a bank, in not leaving large amounts of cash in CD’s or money market accounts that pay little or nothing.
