Technician Frank Barbera: Gold Stocks Ready for a Strong Advance

Popular technician Frank Barbera joins Jim on Financial Sense Newshour this week. Frank sees gold stocks poised for a strong advance and the dollar ready to roll over and move significantly lower. Ryan joined PFS Group in 1995. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration/Finance from San Diego State University. His professional designations include FINRA Series 4, Series 7, and Series 66 Uniform Combined State Law Exam. He earned the Chartered Market Technician's designation in 2007. Mr. Puplava is Senior Trading Manager and works closely with Jim Puplava on PFS Group's Growth investment objective. He also contributes a monthly Market Observation to Financial Sense and co-authors In the Know—a weekly communication for Jim Puplava's clients only—with other members of the trading staff.
Frank is the editor of the Gold Stock Technician (GST) Newsletter which originally started publication in 1993. As editor of the GST Letter, Mr. Barbera employs technical indicators to bring market timing to bear on the highly volatile gold stocks. In addition to writing the Gold Stock Technician Newsletter, Mr. Barbera has also managed private equity capital for a number of years. In his role as a hedge fund manager, Frank sought to regularly trade precious metals, energy, currencies along with the broad stock market indices. Frank began his career in the early 1980s working with Financial News Network in Los Angeles and later, as the "on air" analyst for KWHY TV.
Rob joined PFS Group in 2011 as an independent broker. Rob holds a BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University, and his professional designations include FINRA Series 7, Series 31, Series 63 and Long Term Care and Variable Annuity Insurance Licenses. With over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry—including 11 years as a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley, as well as other asset management and administration experience at Prudential Securities, Wells Fargo Securities, and PaineWebber—Mr. Bernard's expertise includes: Income strategies, diversification strategies, specialized high-level corporate executive strategies, particularly with SEC Rule 144-related services, long-term care insurance and variable annuities.
