Lifetime Income Series: Boomer Retirement – The New Paradigm

There was a time a few decades back when most workers spent a career with one company, and retired with a pension, Social Security and a gold watch. Those times are gone, and all that is left is a Social Security benefit where the full retirement ages have been pushed back. Making it even more difficult for Boomer retirees today is a zero interest rate environment, so they earn little on their savings. Unlike their parent’s generation, most middle-income Boomers are facing a new paradigm in retirement; one that involves some form of work. Many have already come to view employment as part of the retirement experience. The guest this week is Veronica Dagher of The Wall Street Journal. She discusses the reasons and benefits for parents to reveal their estate plans to their adult children.
