"Fortune Favors the Informed"

***********************************************

This article follows on from “The Secret Oil Rescue” parts 1 and 2. Thank you to the many who responded and made suggestions. The common theme to many was that they were surprised to learn about the BIS and its role. We like to believe in sinister plots, but what is happening behind the scenes is much more far reaching. Sinister plots come unstuck, but they provide the Armageddon Archetype that we promote with the vigor of an urban myth.

I would suggest that the actuality is another face of evil that we should recognize and deal with if mankind is to survive. It’s not the outcome of a plot but an emergence from the chaos of past geopolitical events. It molds its own leaders and community attitudes and becomes its own self perpetuating behemoth.

Empire Redefined

The last great empire along national lines was Great Britain’s. This spread across the globe, with an outpost in the Falklands- which is still retained, to Hong Kong that was the last requital, India, and much of Africa.

Churchill saw the end to empires of this kind when he said “The empires of the future will be empires of the mind.”

He was partly correct. It all depends on how you interpret “mind.” The great statesman was one for open debate, with the victory going to those with the best argument. What we now see is the “Empire of the like minded” where debate is stifled, secrecy is supreme, and the “like mindedness” is unstated but implicitly understood.

Every empire needs a power base and committed people. Great Britain’s was based on a pyramid of military and industrial power, with an intellectual elite pampered in the venerable halls of Oxford and Cambridge.

Who are the empire of the like minded? They are the wealthy of the wealthy nations. They include you and me, because if you are hooked up on line, have a computer and the time to be reading this, you are wealthy. We own shares and we are concerned about what happens in the world. Our lifestyle now and in retirement depends upon the integrity of the financial system. We have a vested interest in its success.

What power is the Empire of the Like Minded based on? Simply total control of the financial system via their agents. The committed people are those of us (the great silent majority) who have a stake in the greatest creation of credit in the history of mankind. In fact we are so loyal, we tend to be “over committed” with no option left but to continue in the same direction of ever increasing credit expansion.

Who are its leaders and chief agents? They are finance ministers from the G7/G8 group. This group can act via

1.       The G7 itself

2.       The Bank of International Settlements (BIS)

3.       The individual treasuries and reserves of members.

The G7

You will see how much this works hand in glove with the BIS by looking at their publicly stated aims. They are very similar “mother hood’ statements about stability and jobs.

From their website:

“Among its many other functions and performance dimensions, the annual G7/8 Summit can be considered a “great global fundraiser.” It mobilizes and promises new monies and financial resources of any kind for the purposes the G8 leaders specify.”

Sounds like a great charity doesn’t it?

Let’s see this great charity in action. This is how this fundraising has been applied:

We can see how the pie has been sliced.

Let’s guess what they really represent

69 Billion: The rescue of the old Soviet Union in 1991 and 1992 was to avoid a global currency melt down. You didn’t see any new factories or hospitals for this, but a transfer of national old empire wealth to the owners of the new empire, the Empire of the Like Minded.

20 Billion: The WMD ( weapons of mass destruction) expenditure is to protect us as members of the Like Minded. A war is expensive and needs funding, so what a better way of doing it?

6 Billion: African Development. Has anyone heard what AIDs is doing there?

1 Billion in wiping out debt to the world’s poorest nations.

You will see this recurring theme of generosity in recent statements:

Statement by G7 Finance Ministers
New York, May 23, 2004

“Yet risks to the outlook remain. Lower oil prices would benefit the world economy. We welcome the recent announcements by some oil producers to increase production. We now call on all oil producers to provide adequate supplies to ensure that world oil prices return to levels consistent with lasting global economic prosperity and stability, in particular for the poorest developing countries."

Ok, so if you tell a porker, tell a big one. The poor nations need oil “like a fish needs a bike.” It is you and me, members of the new Empire of the Like Minded who not only need then oil, but want to buy it cheap.

Statement by U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow
following the Pre-Summit Finance Ministers’ Meeting
New York, May 23, 2004

"While positive news about the world economy and ambitious plans for solidifying growth dominated our meeting, the recent rise in oil prices was also discussed. Lower oil prices would contribute to our efforts to achieve strong and sustained growth. Higher prices act as a tax on both families and businesses. It is vital that oil producers provide adequate supplies to ensure that prices are at levels that foster strong global economic growth.

Our nation must also address the fundamental energy challenges that have built over time. Three years ago, President Bush submitted to Congress a national energy strategy that would address our long-term energy needs. It called for tax incentives for fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles, more exploration in places like Alaska, and greater use of ethanol, a reliable source of energy produced on our farms.”

Yes folks, we all need to go green.

So what is the problem?

The problem is that all of this is occurring without any public debate. Those who are able to debate are either gagged or fail through self interest to have any interest. There are active moves to suppress any body or organization that is against “The Empire.’

Again, from the last G7 meeting:

“We discussed our Strategic Review of the World Bank and IMF and are gratified by the positive response we have received already... However, given the depth of change in the world economy, the institutions must reform further if they are to achieve their goals” [‘our goals’ is the real meaning!]

Whenever the dominant power (in this case finance) is used to provide an advantage to a minority (The empire of the like Minded), a rebalancing will occur.

The solution is to look at the issues openly and consider all the options. The US and AUS refuse to endorse the Kyoto protocol, and the world continues to move toward an environmental crisis. Aids is untreated in many parts of Africa. Modern treatment for all sufferers could be instituted with only a little G7 fundraiser. Billions are spent on defending us from WMDs, while nothing is spent on changing the conditions that lead to those who want to use them.

The Empire of the Like Minded sees only its own self interest based upon its own limited world view. It is not too late to change, but it needs to be far more wide reaching than avoiding a mere oil crisis!
