Christian Takushi, a Swiss-based geopolitical strategist and macroeconomist, sees a seismic shift with Donald Trump’s return to the US Presidency. Takushi—whose newsletter at geopoliticalresearch.com ranks among the world’s 50 most reliable geopolitical sources—unpacks a transformed Trump and a warring globe. “This is totally different from 2017,” he asserts, marking a departure from a 'fluke' protest vote to a deliberate American mandate. From ideological battles to over 120 simmering conflicts, Takushi warns of a complex war—economic, political, cultural—reshaping nations. Here’s his unflinching view.

Trump 2.0: A Mandate, Not a Mistake
Takushi contrasts Trump’s 2017 “accident of history”—as some referred to it—with 2025’s decisive win. “Eight years ago… the overwhelming consensus was… a protest vote,” he recalls, noting peers dismissed it as voter frustration. Now? “The American people… voted overwhelmingly for President Trump… They knew what they were voting for.” Sheridan agrees: no longer a fluke, it’s a movement. Following the assassination attempt in July 2024, Takushi observes a transformed Trump, now driven by a heightened sense of purpose and determination. This renewed resolve, supported by a unified GOP and a strong popular vote, amounts to a declared "war on the liberal, green, and woke globalist establishment."
A Global Conflagration Ignites
This isn’t just America’s fight. “We are at war… much more complicated… than a NATO-Russia war,” Takushi warns, counting 120 conflicts in the Northern Hemisphere alone. Sheridan highlights Takushi’s map—posted at @ChrisTakushi—pinpointing hotspots from Ukraine to internal strife. “The real war is… fought across borderlines, across institutions,” he says, beyond traditional battlelines. Last year’s 60% GDP-affecting elections showed a global anti-incumbent tide, Takushi notes, with Trump as a figurehead—yet Europe’s entrenched globalism resists. “We’re just at the beginning,” he cautions.
Europe’s Pushback: A Clash of Values
Europe, Takushi argues, won’t mirror America’s MAGA surge. “Europe has never been the same as America,” he says, tracing a 500-year divide to Switzerland’s Anabaptist persecutions. “In Europe, the state sets the consensus… We like to be told… what [to] think.” Sheridan ties this to America’s religious freedom roots versus Europe’s state-driven norms. With 62% of European economies state-dependent, Takushi doubts a conservative wave: “It’s going to be very hard… to vote against the status quo.” Europe’s doubling down, he predicts.
Economic Boom vs. Global Bust
Trump 2.0 promises an American boom, Takushi forecasts: “Policy changes… may lead to a significant economic boom” in the U.S., however, “Europe is going to be the most negatively affected,” Takushi says, as China pivots to emerging markets. Yet risks loom: “Fiscal… conditions… could lead to a major correction” in U.S. markets by late 2025. Even so, he’s bullish: “An economic boom will be unleashed” before year-end, a silver lining amid global tension.
Beware the Triumphal Trap
Takushi tempers conservative glee. “Be careful with the triumphalist mood,” he urges, noting Europe’s preemptive snap elections in 2024—like Britain’s Rishi Sunak move—thwarted MAGA momentum. “They were not caught off guard,” he says of the global left, prepared since mid-2024. Sheridan flags Milei’s Argentina cuts as a threat model; Takushi agrees: “How scary this… is for many.” Europe’s state-heavy response—more taxes, surveillance—could crush MEGA (Make Europe Great Again) dreams. “This war… has just begun,” he insists, urging a sober big-picture view.
Navigating the Chaos
Takushi’s lens is wide-angle, objective. “I don’t take sides when I’m an analyst,” he tells Sheridan. With 120 conflicts and rising, from Georgia’s unrest to Germany’s AfD crackdowns, he sees division as war itself. Follow him at geopoliticalresearch.com or @ChrisTakushi for strategic insights on “underestimated developments.” As Europe braces and America booms, Takushi’s warning rings: this isn’t Cold War 2—it’s a global reckoning.
