David Nicoski's Blog

David Nicoski is Vermilion's Chief Technical Strategist and responsible for driving Vermilion’s technical research strategy. He was previously a Principal and Senior Technical Analyst in the Technical Research department at a well-known investment bank and has more than 15 years of technical research experience. At his prior employer, Mr. Nicoski's responsibilities included assisting in the production and marketing of the Firm’s technical research products.

Mr. Nicoski attended college at the University of Minnesota in the Applied Business Program and the Carlson School of Management. Mr. Nicoski holds a Chartered Market Technician designation.

Vermilion Research announced it won The Technical Analyst’s prestigious Best Independent Research Firm for Technical Equity Research award at the group’s annual ceremony in London on May 24, 2019. The Technical Analyst’s panel of judges also selected Vermilion as a finalist in the category of Best Data Provider.

According to a spokesman for The Technical Analyst Publication, the judges said, “Vermilion jumps off the page. They provide a great combination of top down and bottom up research. They showed originality of thought along with a good use of technical indicators beyond the standard approach. Their conclusions are also clearly expressed.” Finalists for the award included esteemed financial institutions Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and Banque Pictet. Joe Jasper, CFA, President at Vermilion accepted the award on behalf of the Firm.
