As a World War II history buff, methodical planning, strategy and execution have characterized Morrison’s management style throughout his career. He is perhaps best known for being part of the team that helped orchestrate one of the tech industry’s greatest turnaround stories as chief operating officer of Applix, Inc., a business analytics software company.

When Morrison joined Applix in 2004, he implemented a series of innovative sales, marketing, business development and customer support programs that played an integral role in transforming the struggling company into the fastest growing vendor in its market, achieving compound annual growth rates in excess of 30 percent. Applix was acquired by Cognos in 2007, and then ultimately became part of IBM.
