Sean Darby is a managing director and global head of strategy for Jefferies based in Hong Kong. He is responsible for identifying global trends and potential opportunities in the equity markets by analyzing various industries and market sectors. Darby works closely with Jefferies' equity research analysts in the U.S., Europe and Asia to develop investment themes and strategies, including a conviction list of stock recommendations for clients. He joined Jefferies in 2011 from Nomura, where he spent almost 10 years as head of Asia strategy. At his prior firm, he was named No. 2 Asia Strategist by Institutional Investor and No. 3 by Asia Money. Previously, he was an Asia regional strategist at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, a portfolio manager focused on Asian and Japanese securities at Equitable Life in the UK, and a portfolio manager at Scottish Provident in the UK. A chartered engineer, he is a graduate of both Exeter University, where he majored in engineering, and Stirling University.
