S&P 500 Intermediate Term Prognosis

Following is a technical opinion of the US stock market for the next few months. Below is the 3 year weekly chart of the S&P 500 index. What is apparent is a topping pattern similar to a multiple head-and-shoulders (HAS) reversal pattern.

Retail Reality Check, Again: Wall Street STILL Overreacting

By Chris Puplava – The markets initially rallied off the retail sales report that came out last Wednesday as sales for January rose 0.3%, which was in stark contrast to the consensus expectations of a 0.3% decline.

What Bubble? ...

Yarns from Down Under, Part 3

While the property and asset bubble party continues unabated down under, one of the better yarns which is rapidly fading into the mists of time involves two young Sydney lawyers, the splendidly named Roscoe WG Hoyle and Bill Dovey.

Few things are more annoying to the average S&P trader than the dreaded overnight gaps which have become more prevalent since volatility in this market increased. Equally frustrating are the magical numbers that define these moves and the implication that “They” know somethi

Defenseless and Stupid

A recent Pravda headline stated, “USA absolutely defenseless against possible attack from Russia or China.” Of course, this headline seems ludicrous to most Americans. But there is nothing ludicrous about it. In 1998 a leading Russian military defector told me that Russia and China could combine to defeat the United States in a future war.
