Gender Shift – Why Women Are Overtaking Men

Kara Murphy, Chief Investment Officer and Senior Vice President for SunAmerica Asset Management, discusses the societal shift underway as women have now overtaking men in education level (undergraduate and graduate degrees) and also tend to realize greater investment performance as traders or for companies with women in leadership positions. As Kara explains, it isn’t because woman are smarter than men—it’s because of temperamental differences and, especially, levels of confidence, which often lead men and woman to make very different decisions when faced with uncertainty.
