Rob joined PFS Group in 2011. Rob holds a BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University, and his professional designations include FINRA Series 7, Series 31, Series 63 and Long Term Care and Variable Annuity Insurance Licenses.

With over 30 years of experience in the investment management industry—including 11 years as a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley, as well as other asset management and administration experience at Prudential Securities, Wells Fargo Securities, and PaineWebber—Mr. Bernard's expertise includes:

• Income strategies
• Diversification strategies
• Specialized high-level corporate executive strategies, particularly with SEC Rule 144-related services
• Long-term care insurance
• Variable annuities.

For several years, Rob's focus has been on "income" strategies—not only a careful selection of municipal/corporate bonds, foreign government bonds, and other bonds, but also other instruments—such as preferred stock or utilties companies—that generate income/dividend streams for his clients.

Rob shares Jim Puplava's macro-perspective on the markets/economy, and participates in weekly trading strategy/brainstorming meetings with Jim's staff. Rob is a guest on Financial Sense Newshour.

A San Diego resident for more than 30 years, Rob enjoys wakeboarding and scuba diving, is an off-road enthusiast, and is enough of a skiing buff that he takes occasional trips to where it snows. He and his wife Kathy have two daughters.
